One of ekota’s greatest pros - its ability to quickly gather vast amounts of qualitative data - also creates one of its biggest liabilities: the fact that participants can submit statements that all the other participants will thereafter view. This can be problematic if people aren’t using the space with good intentions, and want to use profanity, insults or send personal information that could jeopardise anonymity.

This is where moderation comes in. Moderation is the process by which submitted statements are evaluated by CogCo members or trained partners to assess their suitability before being shown to other space users.

This ensures that all spaces run smoothly and only contain content valuable to the discussion and that all participants have an enjoyable (and valuable) experience on the platform.
