Once the space is live and moderation is required, there are some simple steps to follow to ensure everything goes according to plan.
There are some moderation guidelines that are consistent: profanity, personally identifiable information, irrelevant responses, and repeat responses: these keep all spaces functioning smoothly.
Additionally, specific projects might have additional moderation requirements based on the specific goals of the project or the nature of the discussion space.
Ensure these moderation guidelines are clearly established before the space opens to users, so all moderators can be on the same page. This also allows the space to be crafted as objectively as possible to remove any potential bias from the side of the moderators.
statements can only be voted on once they are moderated. So if 200 participants submit statements before any of them are moderated, then all 200 statements will have zero votes from these participants after accepting them into the space.
If moderators are checking the space consistently, however, they can slowly let statements into the space so that any participants joining thereafter can vote on them. This keeps the number of votes across all statements more consistent.
Here you will see the following overview of the space:

Click “Start moderating”, where you will see all the opinions awaiting approval.
You can then read the opinion, review the moderation criteria and either accept it into the space or reject it.
When rejecting an opinion, be sure to label your reason for rejecting it so that other moderators can see your train of thought.
